Run the Guide Pawleys Island Already Uses

ExplorePawleysIsland.com

The site is built and running. Creek tides, beach access, seafood, charters. One publisher owns this island and the Neck around it.

Built, Live, and Waiting on Somebody

Go look at it before you read another word. ExplorePawleysIsland.com is running right now with live creek tides pulled off the gauge, beach access points, seafood, charters, kayak and golf cart rentals, and guides to fishing the creek and the surf. There are pages on Litchfield, Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington Beach State Park and the Georgetown Harborwalk.

None of that needs building. It's there. What it doesn't have is somebody walking into the restaurants on the causeway and saying hello.

The market

An Island That Never Got Around to Changing

Pawleys is an odd market and the oddness is the opportunity. It's one of the oldest resort communities on the East Coast, it wears the shabbiness on purpose, and it sits on a strip of the Waccamaw Neck with serious money on either side of it. Litchfield and DeBordieu are minutes away. So are rental cottages that turn over every Saturday in July.

That gives a business here two customers at once. Somebody who arrived yesterday, has a phone in their hand, and needs to know which place does she-crab soup properly. And somebody who has lived here thirty years and needs a roofer after the storm. Both are searching. Neither is being served well by a national app that thinks Pawleys and Myrtle Beach are the same place.

They aren't. Everybody who lives here knows they aren't. That gap is what you're selling against.

The deal

What You Get, What We Do

You, the Publisher

  • Sell and grow the Business Alliance on the island and up the Neck
  • Bring in advertisers and keep them
  • Be the face of the brand here
  • Show up at the chamber and the ribbon cuttings

Us, CityKits

  • The site, built and hosted, already live
  • Writers and editors producing the content
  • Social channels and the newsletter, daily
  • Ad delivery, billing, collections and bad debt

The first $2,500 of monthly market revenue covers what CityKits spends running Pawleys. Every dollar above that splits 80/20 in your favor. No buy-in, no franchise fee, no territory purchase and no monthly platform charge. You never write us a check, because we bill the advertiser and pay you your share.

Revenue starts with the $49 a month Local Business Alliance membership, then grows through advertorials, social ads, display, email and retargeting. Both bill monthly. Both renew.

Terms are illustrative and not a projection of any market's results. CityKits has no operating Publisher history, and no market is guaranteed to reach any particular figure. The full Publisher page carries the complete economics, the ramp and the earnings model.

Fit

Who Runs Pawleys Well

An agent on the Neck

The relationships already exist, commission income makes a ramp normal, and an MLS feed switches on the real estate vertical from day one.

Somebody out of hospitality

If you've run a restaurant, a marina or a rental company here, you know every owner on the causeway and what their January looks like.

A chamber or tourism hand

You spend your week with the businesses that belong in the Alliance, and you know which ones actually spend on marketing.

Anyone local who sells

The one thing that doesn't travel is being from here. You can't fake knowing which kitchen closes for the winter.

This won't suit somebody who wants to write rather than sell, or who needs predictable income in month one. We'd rather say that now than in month seven.

Next

One Publisher Gets This Island

The next conversation isn't an application. It's a look at Pawleys, the businesses you already know, and whether the numbers hold up where you live.

This goes straight to us and nowhere else. Murrells Inlet is a separate market with its own publisher, so tell us if you want to hear about that one instead.
